Born in 1977, Akif Güleç
completed his primary and secondary education in Sakarya, Turkey. After
receiving an intense education on art, sculpture and graphic design, he started
the Bachelor’s Degree Program in Photography, at the Faculty of Fine Arts -
Kocaeli University, Turkey. During his undergraduate years, he worked at the
Atmaca Industrial Photography Workshop founded by Uğur Atmaca, where his
perception of photography has significantly improved. Under the supervision of
the photography master İsmail Saatçi, he gathered sophisticated skills of
the darkroom and industrial photography.
Following the graduation, he pursued a career in various photographic
disciplines, from industrial photography to fashion and cast photography and
worked at various media production firms and agencies. He lectured on
photography for a certain period in Sakarya University, Turkey. He
attended many exhibitions and symposiums and was granted various awards with his
experimental works, in both national and international contests. He also has
interviews and essays published in several magazines.
Currently Güleç continues working in different fields of photography. |
